Picture slideshow of Milton Keynes bus blaze

Waiting for Video...

Milton Keynes Citizen readers flocked to social media to share their pictures of the bus they saw explode into flames outside Milton Keynes Central bus station yesterday.

The drama happened just after 2pm while the bus, which was pouring with smoke was stationary in Elder Gate.

It is understood the driver of the bus, owned by Aylesbury-based Redline, pulled over deliberately when he knew something was wrong with the vehicle.

There were no passengers on board and nobody in the vicinity was injured.

At this stage is believed a mechanical fault was to blame, but investigations are ongoing.

James Kelly ‏@JIMBOBWALL said: “Yikes...thank god no one was hurt.”

Jack White ‏@MagicManLB said: “Train delays here we come... Hope no one was hurt though!”
