Poppy appeal to be flagged up

editorial image

THIS year’s Poppy Appeal will be launched on Saturday against the backdrop of the world’s largest knitted Union flag.

To be held at the Church of Christ the Vine on Jonathans, Coffee Hall, the service starts at 11am.

As well as the giant flag, there will be the city’s newest formed army cadet unit present.

It will also be on the site of a proposed new war memorial in the church grounds.

Royal British Legion county chairman Mike Barry said “It is wonderful that this year’s launch is getting right into the heart of Milton Keynes.”
