THE Post Office could be moving out of thecentre:mk in favour of a bigger space in the Theatre District.

Consultation has opened into the move which would see the Post Office move from its current location in Crown Walk to the former Ortega restaurant site opposite the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The proposed move, 460 metres over the road, would see a new, modernised facility for people to use, much bigger than the current facility. It will also allow for extended opening hours, until 6pm.

Nick Carroll, regional manager, Post Office, said: “We understand how important post office services are to people in Milton Keynes and we want to make it easier for customers to do business with us through opening a new open plan branch offering longer opening hours.

“We are confident this new modern Post Office will meet the needs of customers in the area and help us to secure services for the future.”

If approved, the move could go ahead in the summer.

The six-week public consultation closes on Tuesday, March 26. To leave your comments, email comments@postoffice.co.uk or 08457 22 33 44.
