Two songstress sisters are hoping to win over the judges in the regional finals of a singing competition next month.
Frankie and Georgina Warren-Waller, aged 12 and 10, from Potterspury wowed at the recent opening TeenStar auditions here in Milton Keynes.
The siblings have both made it through to the regional finals of the UK’s only singing competition specifically for teens and pre-teens and they cannot wait to perform again to compete for a place in the national grand final.
Frankie sang ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis in her initial audition and will perform a mash-up of two well-known songs by female vocalists in the regional heats.
Keeping the details to herself, she said: “I chose this because it is my own version and I think I’ll be the only one singing that!”
Frankie attends Sponne School in Towcester, where she has singing lessons and participates in the senior choir.
Having auditioned for TeenStar last year, Frankie is very excited to have made it through to this stage of the competition this year.
She adds: “I am going to be singing in front of 400 people!
“A few will be friends and the rest will be friends and relatives of the other contestants.”
Georgina is a pupil at John Hellins Primary School, where she is in the choir and a singing group called ‘Harmonies and Melodies’ (with whom she sang at The Derngate Theatre in Northampton last year).
She said: “I think TeenStar is a great opportunity for young singers like me to get involved in a singing competition.
“For my audition I sang ‘Story of My Life’ by One Direction.
“I’m still not sure what song I will perform at the regional final.”
The competition is divided into age categories – Late Teens (16-19), Mid Teens (13-15) and the Pre-Teens.
All types of singers, vocal performers, groups and acoustic singer/songwriters can enter.
Show the girls your support by booking tickets for the regional final at the MK Christian Centre in Oldbrook on 26 April.
They will perform in the pre-teens show at 12 midday, visit www.teenstarcompetition.co.uk or contact email@example.com for tickets.
