Primary school planning ‘Greg Rutherford area’

Greg Rutherford celebrates at the Olympics

Greg Rutherford celebrates at the Olympics

A PRIMARY School want to step in where Milton Keynes Council missed out – by holding its own celebration with Greg Rutherford.

Two Mile Ash Primary School is hosting the Olympic gold medallist next Thursday, and already have plans to commemorate the long jumper at his old school.

Head teacher Shirley Townsend said: “I just want to let the people of Milton Keynes – especially Greg and his family – know that plans are well under way for Greg’s achievements to be recognised in at least one area.

“What he achieved at London 2012, and how he has conducted himself since, fills me with so much pride and I for one cannot wait to celebrate with all the staff and children at Two Mile Ash School.”
