Probe launched after woman in her 80s dies in Wolverton house fire

An investigation has been launched after an elderly woman died following a fire at a house in Wolverton earlier today.
Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene in Furze Way, Wolverton at 10.34am.
Three fire engines – two from Great Holm and one from Newport Pagnell – and an ambulance also attended, but the woman in her 80s died.
The fire is believed to have started in a bedroom.
Group Manager Greg Smith, from Bucks Fire Service said: “This was a tragic incident, and we would like to offer our condolences to family members, friends and the community.
“Firefighters will be returning to the area this afternoon to provide fire safety advice and reassurance to residents.”
The investigation is being carried out by Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police.
