The world of work is increasingly global and lucky students at one school are feeling ambitious after a week-long work experience programme in Germany.

Thirteen pupils from Denbigh School Sixth Form were given an insight into working overseas as well as having the opportunity to experience family life and culture in and around the German town of Schwerte. Kamal Patel, a year 12 student, said: “I would like to become a doctor so my placement at the hospital provided hands-on experience.”

Other placements were held at a doctor’s surgery, two law firms, a computing company, a school, two banks, the local fire station, a vet, a steel company and a Volkswagen garage. Judith Heinemann, advanced skills teacher in the modern languages faculty, said: “It was a pleasure to accompany the students.”
