RECORD numbers attended the 2013 Milton Keynes Model Railway Exhibition, writes Liam Andrews.

More than 1,850 people attended the Milton Keynes Model Railway Society (MKMRS) event at Shenley Brook End School on Saturday.

MKMRS Exhibition Manager, Terry Silver, was pleased to see more families getting involved than ever before.

He said: “We are delighted that so many people were able to join us and enjoy our exhibition.

“Our new exhibition venue at Shenley Brook End School proved highly popular with visitors and enabled us to put on the biggest show seen in Milton Keynes since 1995.

“It is especially pleasing to see so much interest from families and children as they are the future of the hobby.”

Thoughts are already focussed on the 2014 event as MKMRS think of ways to improve and progress their exhibition for yet another year.

Mr Silver added: “Building on this year’s success we hope to make next year’s show even better, so planning is already underway to find more layouts and traders to interest exhibition-goers.”

MKMRS is keen to find out what visitors thought of the exhibition and what improvements could be made for next year.
