A garage exploded into pieces in the early hours of this morning, which saw four homes evacuated in a Bletchley cul-de-sac.

Neighbours in Furnberry Close say they thought the noise was “a meteor entering the atmosphere” after hearing the explosion at 4.45am.

25 firefighters arrived at the scene from Bletchley, Great Holm and Broughton, some of whom will remain at the site for the majority of today while they determine the cause of the explosion and make the area safe.

Watch Manager Andy Vernon from Bletchley says the fire service is treating the explosion in the same way they would treat a “small bomb”.
