The Slug and Lettuce in Milton Keynes is reopening today after an investment of £120,000, which will see the creation of 10 new jobs.

Owned and operated by the Stonegate Pub Company, the renovation has resulted in a completely different look for the site including new décor, furniture, back bar, function room refurbishment and toilets.

The investment has also seen the introduction of Costa Coffee, which will mean guests can pop in for their morning coffee and breakfast from 10am Monday to Saturday and Midday on Sundays. Costa Coffee will offer guests their choice of hot drinks throughout the day including Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, hot chocolate as well as a range of teas.

The venue will open Monday to Thursday until midnight, Friday and Saturday to 2am and Sunday to 10.30pm.

The Slug and Lettuce, will host a special VIP celebration to showcase the new-look this evening. The night commences from 6pm with a magician, 2-for-1 cocktails, menu tasting and a cocktail master class hosted by Havana Club Rum. VIP guests will also get the chance to win an iPad Air and there will also be a range of surprise giveaways.

The venue will then open to the public from 10pm that evening.

Guests will get a taster of the Slug and Lettuce Milton Keynes offer with a live band and DJ ‘Tailfeather’ showcasing the best of Motown and Soul music.

Guests will also be able to enjoy their five minutes of fame walking down the purple carpet with the paparazzi and the first 100 people entering the venue will receive a Peroni goodie bag and a free Bellini cocktail.

Speaking about the investment at the Slug and Lettuce, which is located in the heart of the Milton Keynes’ Theatre District general manager Chad Dicks, said: “This revamp will see a whole new look for the Slug and Lettuce. Our function room is undergoing a revamp and this will be a great asset to the venue.

“The team can’t wait for the redesign of the Slug and Lettuce.

“We look forward to welcoming customers to the new venue, which is going to be the best in the area.”

The Slug and Lettuce will continue with its great food and drink offer. The site will open every day offering breakfasts together with a range of lunch and dinner options which now include an ‘under 500-calorie’ menu, the popular platter range and mix of steak, fish, vegetarian and seasonal options.

Children can also choose from a range of tasty options from the under 8’s menu. On Sunday’s the ‘Kids For A Quid’ promotion means that for every adult dining at full price a child can eat for £1. Guests can also receive 50% off their food bill on ‘Happy Mondays’, while ‘Tikka Tuesdays’ offers 2 for 1 curries and ‘Wine Down Wednesday’ offers selected wines (except sparkling and champagne) for £11.45.
