SERVING soldier Frank Apeadu has sent a message from Afghanistan reassuring people he and his comrades will return safe.

Frank, from Milton Keynes, has already completed two six-month tours of the Middle East after spending six months in Iraq from October 2007 and the same time in Afghanistan from October 2009.

After just one week back in Afghanistan, with 40 Royal Marine Commando Unit in Helmand Province, Frank said: “I want to reassure family and friends that myself and the boys will get our heads down and get back in one piece to our families, friends and loved ones.”

His message comes on the eve of Remembrance Day with ceremonies taking part throughout the city on Sunday (November 11).

“My greetings go to Miss Mingle and family, David, Rita, Uncle Boat, the Tagoe family and the Barnett family in the States.

“My heart goes to all our brave boys and girls who have fought here and elsewhere and those who have lost their lives, we will remember them.”
