A celebration of St George’s Day was held at MK Rose in Campbell Park yesterday.
MK mayor Brian White was joined by the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire Joe Barclay, Poet Laureate Mark Neil, Rev Dr Brenda Mosedale from The Church of Christ the Cornerstone and 20 members of the public.
Councillor White said: “Everybody says we celebrate St Patrick’s day, but not the English saint, so what we are trying to do is get events established at the MK Rose so it is a place where people can come together to celebrate whatever they want.”
“The Council has organised events to mark the Saints days, Remembrance Day and Holocaust Day but people can choose their own celebration.
“The sun came out for us, which was nice. It all went really well, but we’re hoping next year is even bigger.”
