Teenager saves himself by punching attempted robber

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy punched a thief who tried to steal his phone during an incident yesterday.

At 4pm the teenager was walking home along Oriel Close when a man came up and demanded his phone.

The boy refused and punched the man in the face causing him to run off towards The Radcliffe School.

The offender was around 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black balaclava, a dark shell material Adidas short jacket, blue jeans, Nike Air Max Trainers.

Any witnesses can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
