Endurance is key to both sporting and academic achievement and students at a city school showed they have what it takes to succeed in their very first triathlon.
Fitness fanatics from The Webber Independent School embarked on a gruelling challenge during their debut in the annual Independent Schools Association Midlands Triathlon.
Pupils competed against students from 20 other schools at the event in Lucton, Hertfordshire.
They battled against the clock and each other to get the fastest times in swimming, cycling and running races.
Principal Sue Vig said: “I am really impressed with every single one of our students – they showed unrelenting determination and a real spirit of sporting adventure!
“This was unknown territory for all who took part and I am delighted that their performances shone.”
