Twenty-five years since the Settle & Carlisle Line was rescued from the threat of closure, heritage rail operator The Railway Touring Company will mark the anniversary by running six vintage trains from Milton Keynes across the route.
Every Saturday between February 1 and March 8 The Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express will depart from Euston, stopping off at Watford Junction, here in Milton Keynes, Rugby, Nuneaton, Crewe and Preston.
The gleaming vintage carriages will be hauled by diesel as far as Camworth before meeting up with a steam locomotive for the Settle & Carlisle crossing.
Passengers can enjoy standard travel or first class with a range of tempting food opportunities, including a four course dinner served direct to your table.
