Thieves leave empty handed after house break-in

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery in Olney.

Between 8am and 6.30pm on Tuesday, thieves tried to break into a house in Foxhill. When the owner got home he saw the kitchen window at the back of the house was open. There were also tool marks on the rear door and the lock on the rear gate had been broken off. Nothing was stolen.

The victim said he saw two men walking down the street as got home. One was white, of a large build, and wore black clothing and a black wool hat. The second was also wearing black clothing and a black wool hat.

Potential witnesses can call police on 101.
