Four chefs have ladled down the gauntlet for others as they look to be crowned Chef of the Year at this year’s MK Food and Leisure Awards.

But there is still plenty of time for Milton Keynes eateries to put their chefs forward to appear in the live cook off, which will be held on April 8.

The first to enter was Lewis Moore, a sous-chef at The Birch in Woburn. Lewis is enjoying his third stint at the restaurant.

The second to enter was David Green from the Mercure Hotel at Woughton on the Green.

This is David’s third year in the competition after finishing third in 2012 and second in last year’s contest. He will be looking to go one better this year.

Stefano Boi from the Swan at Salford is the third chef to put his chef’s apron forward.

Stefano has been a chef for a number of years previously working at Cranfield School of Management.

Nonna’s Italian chef Marcin Pudlik was the fourth chef to enter and will equally be looking to take home the city’s best chef crown.
