Traditional May Day festival coming to Milton Keynes

The Parks Trust is holding a day of traditional May Day celebrations

 

A day of traditional May Day celebrations will take place in Milton Keynes on Saturday, May 3.

The Parks Trust has organised the free events at Campbell Park between 12pm and 5pm.

Enjoy the colourful displays of Morris dancing, the traditional sound of folk music and try your dancing skills around the maypole.

There will be a maypole dancing demonstration from Great Linford Primary School, a variety of folk musicians, traditional children’s entertainment and craft stalls.

Set next to the Grand Union Canal amidst the ponds and beautiful landscape of Campbell Park you can bring a picnic, feed the ducks and watch the colourful display of narrow boats.

The May Day Festival also includes a variety of fete games, fairground rides, stalls and refreshments. The event and car parking for the event is free. For further information and a programme of activities visit www.theparkstrust.com.
