Two arrested during police searches as part of Operation Sentinel
TWO people have been arrested as part of an operation into organised crime after warrants were served at houses in and around the city.
Houses were targeted in Balmerino Close, Monkston, Portishead Drive, Tattenhoe and Severn Way in Bletchley, and Thames Valley Police, working with other agencies, executed nine warrants across the region as part of Operation Sentinel.
It is the second stage of the operation involving 120 officers, after 19 warrants were executed on October 17 resulting in 18 arrests.
The warrants were conducted under the Firearms Act, Misuse of Drugs and Proceeds of Crime Act, during which seven arrests were made for money laundering, possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and handling stolen goods.
Cash, drugs and stolen property have been recovered, while a further five people were arrested in Iver.
Officer in charge of the operation Detective Superintendent David Poole said: “We are continuing to send out the clear message that crime does not pay.
“We have made a number of arrests today as well as seizing drugs, stolen property and criminal cash.
“This is in addition to the arrests made last month as well as our ongoing day to day activity to reduce crime and seize criminal benefits.
“My message is that if you commit crime, we will arrest you and take away your cash and criminal proceeds.
“The success of today’s operation is a direct result of information from our communities. I urge anyone with information about those benefitting from crime to call Thames Valley Police or Crimestoppers.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
