VIDEO: Cineworld Christmas carols a hit

A CHRISTMAS carol service with a difference proved to be blockbuster on Tuesday night.

Around 300 people attended the St Mark’s MK event – which took place in a cinema.

Cineworld in the Xscape hosted the service, which combined the singing of carols with a rendition of the Christmas story, a live band and much waving of glow sticks.

The event proved so popular that two separate services had to be held,

St Mark’s MK is an Anglican church with a difference – mainly that it doesn’t actually have a building.

Members of the church meet at various events throughout the city.

Organiser Reverend Paul Oxley said: “I love Christmas. It is the whole point of everything.

“If Christmas doesn’t exist then nothing exisits because it is where hope came into the world, when light came into the world, when darkness was banished.

“Plus, those pigs in blankets which are just beautiful.”
