VIDEO: Could it be magic for Tom?
Teen magician off to States
A young magician from Shenley Church End has been invited to the American Society of Magicians convention in Pennsylvania.
Talented Tom Dodson, 14, who is a pupil at Denbigh School, is the current J Day champion – a national award affiliated with the Junior Magic Circle.
He also won the Magic Circle Junior Member of the Year after performing in front of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
As well as the convention he is currently practising ahead of the World Magic Convention in Las Vegas which will host the World Magic Young Magician of the Year award.
His dad Mark, said: "Ever since he was little he has had magic sets but this is much more now. Me and his mum are supporting him all the way but also encouraging him to get a good education.
"That is important. At first we thought it was just a hobby but you can see he has a real talent."
Tom said: "In the short term I want to showcase my talent but in the future, who knows. At first it was a hobby and I loved watching it and that has progressed."
