What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Well plenty if you were among those honoured at Tuesday night's Milton Keynes Citizen Pride in Milton Keynes awards.

Dignitaries including Mayor Euan Henderson, Marshall Amplifiers founder Jim Marshall and Citizen managing director Paul Gibson attended the annual event, now in its fourth year.

Former EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Ricky Groves hosted the evening at the Doubletree for Hilton Hotel.

People, potential, possibilities; P3 helps people with social exclusion problems to get their lives back on track following depression, drugs and other traumatic experiences. Always caring and smiling they give a terrific service.

WINNER – Sinead Bull

Sinead, 8, recently discovered she has no bone marrow, is currently undergoing blood transfusion treatment and has recently had to have a line put in her heart. She is so brave and never complains.

Best Child Carer

Jayne and her disabled husband are foster carers for troubled teens. They also have two children and a grandson who is always in and out of hospital. A complete joy of a lady, Jayne is truly remarkable.

Following many acts of anti-social behaviour in Greenleys, community wardens Rob and Tony stepped in to patrol the area, arranging meetings to resolve the situation and put residents' lives back to normal.

WINNER – Hassan Jama

Hassan is 22-years-old and runs coaching sessions in football, basketball, cricket and other sports for 13-19 year olds from underprivileged areas. He has just qualified as a football coach.

WINNER – Special Needs Unit Gymnastics (SNUGS)

This independent gym club for children with special needs such as cerebral palsy, sensory difficulties, Down's Syndrome and ADHD helps them build their confidence and creates friendships.

A group of volunteers that organise events for 13-25 year olds, they have painted a dark bridge in Newport Pagnell, making it look really interesting.

WINNER – Heads High Anti-Bullying

This group has role models all over the UK, tackling bullying in schools. It believes bullying is the first step to knife and gun crime and if they can encourage people to respect each other, they can tackle this to.

WINNER – Doreen Adcock

At 72, Doreen is a dedicated swimming instructor, teaching more than 13,000 people over 35 years. Teaching one child who was totally blind and others with severe learning difficulties and special needs, she gives up her own time with energy and enthusiasm.

Best Neighbour

WINNER – Mike Keating

Mike, 85, fought for his country in the Navy and is described as a very special person. He regularly looks after friends and neighbours a lot younger than himself and gives endlessly.
