This week’s volunteering opportunities from Community:MK

> Arts Gateway, MK is seeking new trustees with an interest in the arts, who can offer specialist skills to help them prosper and grow.

They’re looking for a Legal trustee with a fair knowledge of charity law, will help to redefine their place in the world, interpret their objects for their changing circumstances and understand just how much they can achieve.

A property trustee to help drive their programme of premises, from concept through premises selection to design, implementation and commissioning, giving advice on property management issues and safe occupation.

A business planning trustee with experience of running organisations and projects hands-on and getting the most out of limited resources.

A fundraising and bid-writing trustee will develop and implement a strategic approach to where and how they look for funds.

Arts Gateway, MK are also looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper who, for a few hours each week could maintain their bookkeeping systems, ensuring records are up-to-date and accessible; help build projections of future activity and invoicing, oversee issue of invoices for reservations made or services delivered, reconcile income against invoices and bank balances, and contribute ideas on how they might improve their financial systems.

> The Stables Theatre want festival assistants at the IF: Milton Keynes International Festival 2014 to help with a range of roles, including: Ushers; Stewards; Backstage Crew; Street Team; Information desk helpers; Leafleting and Publicity Team and Bar Staff. The festival runs from July 18 to 27 .

> NHS Foundation Trust MK Hospital – Mealtime Assistants (various wards)

Individuals are needed to assist patients to complete menu cards and to feel confident in gently encouraging patients with eating and drinking.

A minimum of six months’ commitment ‘is required for this role.

> MK Libraries are looking for volunteers aged between 13 to 25 years to become Summer Reading Challenge Champions.

Milton Keynes Libraries would like volunteers to commit to at least 10 hours over the holiday period with one session of two hours, with days, times and even locations flexible.

You may be asked to attend an interview and a group induction evening before the summer holidays. Recruitment will take place until June 20 and the role will be available from mid-July until mid-September.

> Relate, which provides support to people through counselling, is looking for volunteer receptionists during evenings, Monday to Thursday and Saturday mornings. Travelling expenses will be reimbursed.
