Volkswagen Financial Services new £25 million home has drawn a step closer to being finished after the completion of the concrete frame.
The company’s future UK headquarters will be 100,000 square feet in size and will span over four floors. VINCI Construction UK’s project team joined forces with Ayr (Jersey) Ltd, VWFS and UK and European Investments to celebrate the milestone.
Milton Keynes is at the centre of VWFS’s motor manufacturing and finance companies. As well as being an iconic building, the development will include theatre style conference facilities, a restaurant and coffee shop, a car park and a spacious garden area.
John Stacey, UK Asset Management Director, UK and European Investments, said: “This is an exciting scheme and we are delighted by the progress being made on site. Our team are focused on ensuring the successful delivery of this landmark regional development, which will play a major role in the local community. The building is yet another example of our ability to deliver first class development projects and look forward to completion of the construction works later in the year.”
Ben Shearman, Senior Project Manager, VINCI Construction UK, said: “We are excited to be part of VWFS’s expansion and it’s a delight to celebrate this key milestone with the different companies working together to make this happen. There is no doubt, once completed this building will provide an exceptional office development greatly enjoyed by their staff and give them the resources to expand their operations.
“It is important for us to also educate those, especially students, about what we are building and how infrastructure can promote the local economy,” said Ben.
The project is scheduled for completion in the autumn.
