Calling all wildlife lovers – discover the beauty of butterflies, the dazzle of dragonflies and the balletic movements of bats.

Join The Parks Trust’s rangers and local naturalists to record all the wildlife in Stony Stratford Nature Reserve, Milton Keynes, over 24 hours on Saturday 9 to Sunday 10 August 2014.

On Saturday 9 August you can spot butterflies on a butterfly walk, try pond dipping with the family, identify dragonflies on a guided walk or enjoy an evening bat walk.

All walks and pond dipping activities are suitable for both adults and children.

On Sunday morning there will be an early morning ‘Moth and Mammal Breakfast’. Taking place between 8am and 9.30am you can discover what beautiful moths have been trapped overnight, help us to release them and look for signs of small mammals all over the reserve.

This wildlife BioBlitz is part of a national project to record wildlife, over a 24 hour period, BioBlitz wants everyone to get involved in recording and counting the wildlife they see.

If you’re passionate about wildlife or would like to learn how to identify different species this event will provide you with the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the species that live near you.

This event and the car parking is free. Park at the Nature Reserve car park, Queen Eleanor Street, Stony Stratford. For further information and a programme of activities visit www.theparkstrust.com.
