FOUR cars were broken into in Olney at the weekend with a number of electrical items stolen.

Overnight on Saturday to Sunday, offenders broke into a black Lexus estate and stole an iPod and earphones when it parked in Dinglederry

A blue Audi A4 had a mobile phone and Sat Nav stolen from it when it was parked in Market Place.

A black Audi A6 was broken into on St Josephs Close and offenders stole a jacket, loose change, and a mobile phone

A silver Mercedes saloon, parked in West Street, was broken into and the central console was damaged. Nothing was stolen.

PC Sarah Nash, investigating the crimes, said: “We believe these thefts were committed by the same person and are keen to locate them.

“Witnesses report seeing two men on mountain bikes, one of which was yellow, in the area at the time. The men were wearing dark coloured cagoules with the hoods up over their head.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents of some simple crime reduction advice. Often people invite thieves to take an interest in their vehicle by leaving valuable items in open view.”

Witnesses can call police on 101.
