Lok ’n’ Store, the big friendly self-storage company, is proud to announce that it has agreed to make Willen Hospice its ‘Charity of the Year’.
The self-storage company on Etheridge Avenue will support the charity until June 2013 through various fundraising activities involving their staff.
To officially confirm this new partnership, Lesley Macauley, Centre Manager of Lok’nStore Milton Keynes, recently presented Lynn O’Gorman of Willen Hospice with a certificate announcing the hospice as their ‘Charity of the Year’.
Lesley also spent time with Lynn finding out about how local fundraising from companies like Lok’nStore is critical to the charity’s existence by ensuring the hospice raises over £4.3 million each year.
Lesley Macauley, Centre Manager at Lok’nStore Milton Keynes said: “We are really delighted to be forming this partnership between Willen Hospice and Lok’nStore.
“With many of our customers residing in the local area, it is important for us to support the community around our centre. To kick start our relationship with Willen Hospice, we will make a £25 donation every time the charity directs a customer to Lok’nStore and they make a reservation. We also have some exciting fundraising activity planned where we will be profiling the charity to our customers and the general public.”
Lynn O’Gorman, Events and Community Fundraiser at Willen Hospice, said: “I am thrilled to be presented with a certificate announcing that the Hospice has been chosen as Lok’nStore Milton Keynes’ Charity of the Year 2012/13.
“Willen Hospice provides specialist care to terminally ill adults in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. Such support from the local community is vital to the Hospice which receives less than a quarter of its funding from the NHS.”
Lok’nStore is dedicated to raising funds for its ‘Charity of the Year’ by donating £25 with all reservations mentioning ‘Willen Hospice’, plus customers benefit from free storage offer, which is available with stays of eight weeks or more. To find out more about Willen Hospice visit their website
