More than 60 people turned out to pick up litter and paint street furniture to help improve the landscape of central Milton Keynes.

It was the second ‘Love Where You Live’ Spring Clean of 2015 - a two-hour drop in event for city emplooyees to join in on their lunch breaks.

In total there were 15 bags of rubbish were collected and nine benches repainted during the event, which was organised in collaboration with McDonald’s, centre:mk and Milton Keynes Council.

Plans are now being worked up for the remainder of the ‘Love Where You Live’ events throughout central Milton Keynes in 2015, with the next one planned for Tuesday, July 14.

Rob Harriman, MKCCM’s Street Warden commented, “We’re delighted with the very strong turn out on Thursday’s Spring Clean.

“It was a fun afternoon with a strong community spirit, where a lot was achieved in a very short amount of time. We’d like to thank centre:mk who kindly provided paint and equipment for the event, and whope the volunteers found it a rewarding and enjoyable lunch break!”
