ONE person has died after three lorries crashed on the M1 at Milton Keynes.
The accident happened at around 3.30am on Thursday between junction 13 and 14 on the southbound carriageway.
The motorway has been closed in both directions, causing long tailbacks in the area, Bedfordshire police said.
Emergency services have already started their investigation.
This is the second fatality on the M1 surrounding Milton Keynes in recent weeks. On Tuesday March 27, Michelle Constantinedes from Wootton in Northamptonshire was killed after leaving her car on the hard shoulder and entering the first lane of oncoming traffic.
UPDATE 11am: The northbound carriageway has bene reopened following the accident this morning. Junction 13 slip road is still closed.
