This year thecentre:mk has selected the Milton Keynes Play Association (MKPA) as the chosen beneficiary for the Christmas wishing pool.
For 2011, the shopping centre celebrate ‘An Olde English Christmas’ with a Dickensian theme in Middleton Hall and partner with the MKPA to raise money for a special community project, to benefit the children of Milton Keynes.
The MKPA are a local charity who serve and encourage city children to enjoy traditional and organic play. This year the charity celebrate their 40th anniversary and take the place as beneficiary of the wishing pool, within the Christmas Show at thecentre:mk to raise money to fund a local project to build an adventure playground.
Andy Grout, chief executive at MKPA, said: “We are thrilled to have been chosen as the beneficiary for the wishing pool at thecentre:mk this Christmas, as we celebrate 40 years in the city the monies donated by the visitors to thecentre:mk will allow us to build an adventure playground in a vacant space within Milton Keynes.”
Melanie Beck, head of marketing and communication at thecentre:mk, said: “The MKPA are such a fantastic charity and we are pleased to announce our relationship with them this Christmas. Throughout the Christmas period, MKPA will be hosting craft workshops to encourage visitors to the Christmas show to take part in some creative play and donate towards the construction of a new adventure playground for the children of Milton Keynes.”
