Man assaulted and robbed in Greenleys

An 18-year-old man had his phone stolen after an assault in Greenleys.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the incident which took place on Monday evening as he waited for a bus outside the shops. He was approached by a black man in his late teens, of medium build and about 6ft.

The man asked the victim what he was listening to on his headphones, then punched the victim twice. The victim fell to the floor, before the man stole the his mobile phone.

He tried to get it back but the man then produced a knife which he used to strike the victim’s hand injuring him badly enough to need hospital treatment.
