A MAN was pulled into a car by a group of men and assaulted before his mobile phone was stolen.

At about 2am on Sunday, February 6, the 21-year-old victim was on the forecourt of the Total filling station on Childs Way, close to Fishermead, when he was pulled into a silver Vauxhall Corsa and driven away.

Four men from the Bedford area were arrested in connection with the offence and have been released on bail.

However, police are still appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or may know who was involved in it to get in touch with them as soon as possible.

Detective Constable, Jesse Cousen, said: “Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any serious injuries but this was a frightening attack and we need people to come forward and help us with this investigation.”

The man was assaulted and had his mobile phone taken before he was thrown out in Midsummer Boulevard.

Detective Constable Cousen, said: “Having viewed the CCTV from the forecourt we know that there were numerous witnesses to this incident.

“We have spoken to a few people but a number of witnesses haven’t come forward to the police yet and I would ask them to contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone who has any information on this incident or who might know the attackers can contact Det Con Cousen on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
