Man found in possession of offensive weapon in Milton Keynes receives prison sentence

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police a man has been sentenced to two years' and one month' imprisonment for possession of an offensive weapon and failing to surrender at the appointed time at court.

Jahvon Medford, aged 19, from Northampton was sentenced last Wednesday at Aylesbury Crown Court, after he pleaded guilty to the offence at the same court on the same day.

Medford was found in possession of a squeeze bottle containing an ammonia based solution. He was arrested by officers on Ardwell Lane, Greenleys in Milton Keynes on November 12 2015, and subsequently charged in June.

Medford will serve his sentence at a youth offender’s institute.

“Medford was in possession of a bottle filled with liquid that could have caused burning and irritation and could have caused injuries to someone had the bottle been sprayed at them,” said investigating Officer, Det Con Peter Cave.

“Carrying this type or any type of weapon will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police, and I hope this serves as a message to others that we will arrest you and you will be punished in the courts.”
