A MAN was sentenced to a minimum of four years in prison at Luton Crown Court on Wednesday, July 20, after he pleaded guilty to robbing an elderly man in his home in Bletchley.

Barry Anderson, aged 35, of Granby Court, also pleaded guilty to fraudulent use of credit cards and for both offences received an indeterminate sentence of which he must serve a minimum of four years.

On 25 March, Anderson broke into the bedroom of a retirement bungalow in Bletchley, where the occupier, an 89-year-old man, was sleeping. The man woke up to see Anderson standing over him with a pair of garden secateurs and demanding money, his cash cards and pin numbers.
