A 21-year-old man has been jailed for 15 years for the rape, sexual assault and assault of a sleeping 50-year-old woman.
David Billington of Angel Close, Pennyland was found guilty of two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of assault when he appeared at Amersham Crown Court on January 15.
He was sentenced to 15 years’ in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday.
At around 7.30am on July 1 last year, Billington entered the woman’s house in Harrowden, Bradville. He found a pillowcase drying and put it over his head and went into a bedroom where he woke the woman before carrying out a sustained and violent attack that lasted half-an-hour, in which time she was physically and sexually assaulted and raped.
When Billington left, she alerted a relative, who called the police and ambulance.
The victim suffered bruising to all areas of her body.
Detective Sergeant Luke Grove, investigating, said: “This was a horrific case which left the victim traumatised. We must praise the enormous dignity and bravery that has been shown by the victim and her family during the most trying of circumstances.
“I am pleased for the victim that justice has been done and Billington will be behind bars or under licence for a very long time.”
