Man spat in woman’s face in Milton Keynes shopping centre during religiously aggravated assault

A woman was victim of a religiously aggravated assault in the intu shopping centre on Wednesday evening (March 18).

The victim, a woman in her twenties, was in the Midsummer shopping centre walking towards the Central Milton Keynes shopping centre at about 6pm

When she reached the Gap store she was approached by a man and woman, whereupon the man stood in front of her and then spat in her face.

The man then shouted at members of the public before the pair ran off in the direction of the Holiday Inn hotel.

The man was black, in his mid to late teens, about 5ft 5ins, slim with dark short hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a jacket.

His female accomplice was mixed race, in her mid to late teens, about 5ft 3ins, slim, with light brown hair up in pony tail. She wore off-white coloured leggings and a silver Puffa-style jacket.

Sgt Burrey Muzuva said: “This assault is believed to be religiously motivated - the victim is of North African origin. To spit in someone’s face is both deliberate and disgusting.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious or recognises the descriptions of the two offenders to contact police immediately via 101.
