Man with cerebral palsy from Milton Keynes is looking for love this Christmas

Nathan Edwards, 26, published his biography Take Me Seriously as an eBook through Amazon.

It tells of the social, emotional and physical challenges of growing up with cerebral palsy and restricted sight.

And Nathan hopes it will empower other disabled people to chase their dreams.

“My dream is to find my soulmate, somebody who will love me and accept me for what I am and not how I look,” he said.

“I have tried everything but have had no success. I’ve applied to be on The Undateables several times but they keep rejecting me.”

But Nathan, who lives at Sanctuary Supported Living on Crownhill, is determined not be disheartened.

He is appealing for help to set up a reputable disabled dating agency in MK.

“Some of the national online dating agencies for disabled people can be a rip off. They only seem interested in taking your money,” he said.

“There are so many disabled people here in MK in the same position as me. We’re all looking to find love but we don’t know how to go about it.”

A previous plan to set up a Dates’n’Cakes club fell flat, but Nathan bounced back.

“Disabled people are accustomed to having to fight for things they want to achieve, so it has not put me off,” he said.

“It’s actually made me more determined than ever to find love for me and other people like me.”

“I would like to meet somebody who, no matter what, does not judge me for being how I am and who I am.

“Most people make a split-second judgement and dismiss me when they see me.”
