Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the robbery of an off licence at knifepoint in Milton Keynes.

At around 5pm on Wednesday this week, a man entered Premier Stores in Blackmoor Gate, Furzton, and approached the cashier who was behind the till area.

The offender grabbed the cashier by his jacket, pulled him towards the till and threatened him with a knife – possibly a kitchen knife – which was approximately 30cm in length.

The man demanded cash and cigarettes. The cashier was able to raise the alarm and the offender fled.

During the incident, the offender threw a gold JD sports drawstring carrier bag at the cashier but demanded it back before leaving.

The cashier, a 36-year-old man, was not injured but was badly shaken. Nothing was stolen.

The offender ran off towards the H8 road and along the grass area on the Furzton side.

He is white, slim, around 6ft 2ins, and spoke with a local accent.

He wore a light grey hooded coat with a zip and grey bottoms.

“We would like to reassure the community that we are investigating this robbery and I would appeal to anybody who has any information as to the identity of the offender to come forward to police on the non-emergency number 101,” said Det Con Laura Herrington, based at Force CID at Milton Keynes police station.
