March’s meeting of the Great Linford WI included a visit from Chris Day from Buckingham Garden Centre.
Chris gave a delightful talk on spring planting and bought along several specimens to show. The members were warned of the impending drought and hosepipe ban and told which plants are drought friendly.
Chris was also very generous with his general hints and tips for the garden. Did you know that you don’t have to waste beer in a slug trap - lemonade will do the job just as well!
Other topics discussed during the evening included the club’s ‘Spring Supper’ evening later this month and a party in June to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
A Book sale and raffle were also held.
Great Linford WI meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm at Fulwell Court, St. Ledger Drive. Visitors are welcome.
