CHILDREN from a Woburn Sands nursery have received a gardening lesson from the biggest expert in town.

Maurice Rust, who has worked for Frosts Garden Centre for a mammoth 48 years, took time off to show the children how to grow vegetables.

The project with the Asquith nursery pupils was part of Frosts’ Growing Gardeners Club, which has 1,000 young members

Said Maurice: “It is incredibly important to excite children about growing their own produce and for them to realise fruit and vegetables don’t just come from a supermarket.

“At Asquith nursery they will be able to nurture the crop, pick them and taste the difference in home grown produce.”
