Have your say

Learn about health, jump the queue when you are unwell, and have the chance to win a cuddly bear.

All of these are on offer thanks to Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group’s (MKCCG) new Easter campaign.

Head down to the intu Shopping Centre on Thursday (April 9) and you can meet the MKCCG who will be explaining how to get seen more quickly by visiting a pharmacist rather than a GP or attending A&E if you have various minor ailments.

The intu event will also be giving away 10 small bears every hour to those who can answer a few simple questions.

Dr Nicola Smith, GP chair of MKCCG said: “Many pharmacists have much longer opening hours than GPs and you can usually be seen almost immediately, and in the privacy of a consultation room.

“Also, if people already get free prescriptions then the pharmacist will be able to give you recommended medicines free of charge as long as you are registered with a GP in Milton Keynes.

“I really encourage Mums and Dads to use the MK Pharmacy First and visit their local pharmacist with their child instead of going to the GP or A & E if it is for a common ailment like a cough, cold, hay fever or tummy upset.”

If you miss us at Intu, you will still be able to win a bear in a number of MK pharmacies so just look out for the teddy bear on the counter and ask staff about MK Pharmacy First.
