HUNDREDS of beautiful bundles of joy are competing to win the Citizen’s coveted Baby of the Year title for 2011.
The annual contest is in its ninth year and we are now publishing the wonderful portraits online.
There’s been a fantastic response to this year’s competition, which has attracted hundreds of entries.
A big thank you goes to our event sponsors Midsummer Place, Harveys furniture store and the team from Lifestyle Images photography who took the portraits at both Midsummer Place and branches of Tesco.
But what happens next? Now it’s up to Citizen readers to help us narrow down this bumper crop of entries to a shortlist of 24 – that’s eight from each of the three age categories of birth to nine months, 10 months to 18 months, and 19 months to 36 months.
The eight pictures in each category receiving the biggest number of votes will go through to the final and our panel of judges will then select a winner in each section.
Judges will include representatives from our sponsors, Lifestyle Images, Harveys furniture store and the Citizen.
The main prize is an attractive 15x12 framed print and a certificate.
To vote simply call 09012997289 (calls cost £1.03 from a BT landline, other networks will vary and calls from mobiles will cost considerably more. Lines close at midnight on October 21) or text PMC BABY (space), 4 digit number of your choice and send to 61500 (text charges cost 50p plus standard network charges).
So, without further ado, it’s time to meet our bonny babies.
