Milton Keynes libraries take to the road in search of volunteers

Library staff will be on the road seeking out anyone who would like to help support their local library on the November 15 and 16.

The roadshows are being held at four of the Milton Keynes libraries and give people the chance to speak to member of staff about becoming a volunteer.

Volunteers can be involved in their library as much or as little as they like, every contribution is valuable and very much appreciated.

MK Libraries tries to match the volunteer’s strengths and experience to the tasks on offer - everything from helping customers set up email accounts to selecting books for our homebound readers.

The aim of the Roadshow is to increase the number of volunteers throughout the library service to support paid staff and enhance Milton Keynes Libraries.

There are currently over 70 volunteers helping with activities like shelving, greeting customers, IT help and home delivery services.

The roadshows will be held at:

Tuesday, November 15 - Wolverton Library from 10-12 noon and Newport Pagnell Library from 1-4pm.

Wednesday, November 16 - Kingston Library from 10-12 noon and Westcroft Library from 2-4pm.
