Milton Keynes man appears in court after being charged with murder

Nigel Williams, 39, from Cowper Street, Olney, has been charged with the murder of a Bedford man.

Mark Munday, a married father from Kempston, died after being attacked in a Bedford hotel bar on Saturday.

Williams appeared at Luton Crown Court via a prison video link yesterday from Norwich jail.

Mr Munday sadly died following the assault at the Grafton Hotel in Midland Road.

Judge Michael Kay QC remanded Williams, an electrical engineer, in custody.

There will be a plea hearing on January 10 and a provisional trial date was set for May 15, 2017.

Mr Munday’s family paid tribute to him and said: “Mark was a loving husband, great dad and son. He was loved by his family and many friends.”
