When Stuart Carter visited a site used for filming the Brad Pitt hit Fury, he stumbled across some bullets used in the production and posted pictures online. In turn Stuart, from Emerson Valley, contacted the agent of that film and was soon receiving his own first taste of big screen action.

Stuart was asked to take a screen test as an an extra on the new Guy Ritchie directed film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Days spent ‘on set’ became the norm for Stuart, who is usually found working in recruitment.

But things took an unexpected turn when he was plucked from 600 actors for a shot at stardom: “Two weeks into filming I was asked if I could run through some extra stuff.”

Stuart was picked to be one of those trying to remove the sword from the stone: “Guy Ritchie was really nice and ran through everything with me,” recalls Stuart, who was about to spend two weeks hanging out with one of his favourite actors, Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, and a childhood idol.

“One day a man came in surrounded by bouncers and from the back I could see a tattoo on his neck that looked like David Beckham’s – it was David! “He was great. As a youngster I always wore a No.7 shirt.

“I told him I went to the World Cup in 1998 when he got sent off, and he apologised!”

Stuart filmed the scenes last year, and only found out he had definitely made the final cut when he was sent a screenshot on Sunday from a pal who had seen his performance in the King Arthur trailer!

“The whole experience has been absolutely mindblowing,” Stuart added.
