The city’s Mayor played table tennis in intu, Milton Keynes last week to promote an initiaive produced by Milton Keynes Council Sports Development Team, Ping!
Councillor Subhan Shafiq played a round of ping pong with Martin Hindson, General Manager of intu Milton Keynes, which they said ‘took them back to their college years’.
Mr Hindson said: “It was a privilege to welcome the Mayor of Milton Keynes to our Shopping Centre and to play him at table tennis.
“I don’t think either of us had played in years so it took a bit of warming up but we got a good rally going in the end!
“I see so many of our shoppers utilising the table, it’s a delight to see people enjoying the sport and we are very pleased to have been able to join in with Ping! in Milton Keynes.”
The Ping! MK table is in Oak Court until the end of August and is free for everyone to enjoy with bats and balls placed at the sides of the table for people to join in the fun any time.
Milton Keynes is one of 16 regions that have been selected to be part of Ping! this year, along with Oxford, Birmingham, Liverpool and London, to name a few.
