Their fish and chips are simply the best – and they have beaten all their competitors in Milton Keynes to prove it.
Napoli Fish Bar in New Bradwell, received the most votes in our contest and has been crowned the Citizen Chip Shop of the Year, 2014.
The Chip Shop of the Year contest launched back in February, was your chance to tell us your favourite fish and chip shop.
Your nominations created our final shortlist of 13 local establishments and after three weeks of voting, Napoli Fish Bar has been crowned the victor.
Owner Luciano Pilla, who also won the coveted title back in 2010, has dedicated the win to his father Giovanni (John) who set up the business in 1979, but sadly died suddenly just over a year ago. A delighted Luciano said: “Having first opened its doors in 1979 our award-winning business is now celebrating its 35th anniversary, so it’s fantastic news.”
Luciano puts the secret of Napoli’s success down to having fresh fish delivered daily and using the best quality potatoes fried in top quality cooking oils to produce the best fish and chips in town.
Napoli Fish Bar is proud to have has collected several other awards, including becoming one of the first 25 chip shops in the UK to receive the Fish Fryers quality award.
Added Luciano: “We have tried to stick to our winning formula by not sacrificing quality for profit and we are still mostly using same suppliers as the day we started.
“Napoli’s has always tried to support the local community by raising thousands for charities, supporting local schools and sponsoring local sports clubs – giving back to the very people that have supported us all these years.
“Napoli Fish bar would like to take this opportunity to thank all its customers for their support in helping to reach this milestone.”
