The search is on for someone special to switch on the city’s Christmas lights - after a last minute set back left the first event of its kind without a star attraction.

The lucky winner will be invited on stage to join the Mayor of Milton Keynes Derek Eastman to push the button at 5pm and light up the city centre.

All you have to do is visit intu Milton Keynes Shopping Centre’s customer information desk which will be on Central Boulevard on Saturday, November 22 and fill in the entry form.

MKFM will be drawing a name at random just after 3pm on the day and you must be at the stage area in the horseshoe (between Gap and Hollister) to win!

If your name is called and you’re not there, another name will be selected.

As revealed in last week’s Citizen, 160,000 leaflets were printed promising teen singing star Bailey McConnell would be doing the honours - but instead he’s at Blackpool’s Christmas Lights event that same night.
