Tattoo fans are kicking up an ink stink at YouTube, after the internet firm removed their video previewing the region’s largest tattoo convention.
Samantha Neptue, owner of MK Ink, is organising the MK Tattoo Expo at Stadium:MK on July 12-13.
A video promoting the event was proving a hit on YouTube with more than 15,000 hits – until the video was then suspended from the social media site without any warning.
YouTube bosses then re-posted the video two weeks later, only with all comments removed.
Samantha said: “It’s an extremely fast paced industry and this year the convention is going to be really big, but you’ll have to ask YouTube why they suspended the video.
“The video is all above board and was filmed locally in the MK Ink Tattoo parlour, so we have no idea what they are playing at.”
This is the fourth year of the MK Tattoo Convention.
The video features Buckinghamshire model Renay displaying her tattoos in a scantily-dressed outfit, along with Jammers Nichols from Bletchley-based band Fort Hope.
It shows the duo getting up close and creative with tattoo needles.
Samantha hopes that the online hiccup will not upset prepation for the expo.
She said: “I have full confidence that this won’t hinder the success of the event which is set to be the biggest yet.
“But I’m far from impressed with YouTube’s customer service.”
YouTube did not respond when asked to comment.
> What do you think – is the video too racy for the internet? Or is just a bit of harmless inking fun?
