MK Dons charity is left disappointed by theft

MK Dons Sport and Education Trust has been left devastated by the theft of a portable football pitch, which was taken from the MK Dons Stadium last month.

The Street Stadia pitch is an essential piece of equipment which allows SET to deliver activities to the Milton Keynes community.

On February 24 at around 9pm a white trailer containing the equipment – which is branded and measures 18metres x 12metres was stolen from outside the stadium in Denbigh.

“We are tremendously disappointed that the Street Stadia has been stolen,” said John Cove CEO of MK Dons Sport and Education Trust.

“It is such a large part of the work that we use to deliver and this theft will make it very hard to take our activities into the community.

“The impact of not having such a wonderful piece of equipment available for community members is difficult.”

It had been present at more than 100 events, including the Rugby World Cup Fanzone, the MK Dons Family Fun Days and many more community events, with more than 10,000 children making use of the equipment.

Reports indicate that it was stolen by an orange high roof transit van.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101.
